Hi!! I’m starting to get a little worried because I haven’t received my decision about Plan II, but about 5 other kids in my class have already been accepted. I applied around October 20. I’m valedictorian and have pretty good scores/extracurriculars. Questions… (1) what are my chances of getting in, (2) about how many do they usually accept (especially considering a bunch of kids in my class have already been accepted), (3) when should be the latest that we hear back, and (4) do they send out decisions randomly or is there a certain order?
My DS recommendation letters just showed today on his MY STATUS page. These letters were mailed a very long time ago. According to MY STATUS, have all your required docs been logged in?
I have no idea if there is any order to this.
@queenp123 My son applied to Plan II before the priority deadline last school year. Like yourself he was also a valedictorian. He was one of the last people to get an acceptance letter and it didn’t arrive until late February. So the good news is that you are not out of the running. I’ve heard that applying to more than one college within UT can also slow down your decision.
@queenp123 - the answer to a couple of your questions:
2) according to the website “The program typically receives around 1400 applications for the 175 freshman spots.”
3) the absolute latest you will hear is March 1.
It’s anyone’s guess for answers to your other questions but, like @collegefind stated there is obviously still a chance for you. It is hard to wait! Hopefully you will hear with the next round of notifications (when that will be- no one knows for sure.)
