Haven't heard back from VCU yet

I applied to VCU out of state about mid October. I have yet to hear back from both undergraduate and the honors college (applied for guaranteed dental program). No email confirming they received anything, etc. I called beginning of November and the undergraduate told me my application was complete and honors college told me they hadn't received transcript (weird since one did and the other didn't when I sent both on the same day...) so I sent another but I still have yet to hear back from them. Should I be worried or is this normal?

We attended an Honors Luncheon at VCU this past Saturday and were told that Honors decisions would be available in mid-January. They also said that you would probably hear from Honors first since they send notifications electronically while the undergrad decision will come snail mail. Since you can’t get into Honors without having been accepted to the undergrad, if you get a positive notification from Honors, that will indicate that you were also accepted undergrad.

At least some of the Honors decisions are out - our son was accepted to the undergrad and Honors programs at VCU today - both came by snail mail.

Just heard back today! Got accepted to both undergraduate and honors college + $2,000 in scholarship! I have to call them since they put me on the “Pre-Dental Advising” track so I don’t know whether or not that means I’m in the 8 year program that I applied for

Your honors decision should have come yesterday or today. I was accepted yesterday. As for the honors transcript, are you sure you sent it to the right place?

Did you apply for the guaranteed track? Those decisions don’t come out for awhile. You find out about interviews in mid January and decisions in mid march.

@vacal I applied for guaranteed dental. Do they still have interviews for that? I know medicine does but all my other dental programs don’t have interviews so I thought VCU wouldn’t but I could be wrong

I am not sure if they interview for dental but if they do i would assume that they send out medicine and dental interviews around the same time, but I am not sure. once i hear of any interviews at all for VCU ill let you know.

Anyone hear back about merit scholarships?

Notifications for merit scholarships have started. Our son received notification of his receipt of the Presidential Scholarship today. He’s in state.

Did the notification come through snail mail or electronically. Also, what were your son’s stats?

Anyone else hear back about merit scholarships? I’m really freaking out now that I know someone else had heard back.

Anyone else hear back yet? I’m still eagerly waiting

…Bump…

Anybooody???

One more bump…

Is VCU not a very popular school?
Is it always a back-up school and never a 1st choice school?
what’s the word on VCU, pros and cons?

VCU is the first choice school for people in my high school for medicine, art, and sports

Its not that VCU isn’t popular, its unique. I think the fact that its in an urban environment clashes with the stereotypical college town.
