I submitted my UPitt application on the 21st of September. However, UPitt received my official transcript on the 9th of October. It's the 29th of October and I still haven't heard from them... Not sure if I should be worried. Maybe I'm a borderline applicant? I've heard of people calling their admissions officer - I want to do the same but I'm not so sure what I'd even say besides "So...... When will I know whether I make it in or not?" (and that is a pretty annoying question). Any advice? Comments? Is anyone in the same boat as me or has anyone received their letter already - if so, how long did it take for them to respond?
Also, maybe this is a "dumb" question, but are the acceptance/rejection letters sent through mail or email?

And F.Y.I. my stats are as follows:
32 ACT, 3.8 weighted GPA, took a few APs - but nothing too rigorous. Applying as a bio major.

tiahope- I think you’ll get in, I wouldn’t worry. The letters are sent through the mail. You could call admissions to find out if your decision has been mailed out. Last year my D’s letter was lost in the mail.

tiahope…I am sure you will get in soon. I know many people who have gotten into Pitt with lower stats. You can call them and ask if your application has been reviewed yet. My daughter spoke with them and they are very helpful and friendly.

My daughter applied in August and she still has not heard. This is definitely a reach school for her. She has a 3.6 and a 1200/1840 SAT.

@pamom59 Thanks so much, I really hope that’s true! I live all the way in California and actually wasn’t planning on applying out-of-state until my counselor notified me that U Pitt has an amazing biology program which is exactly the field I want to go into. This will be the first acceptance/rejection letter that I will receive and it’s kind of nerve-wracking. I will definitely call admissions to see what the status is of my application.

@bluehen89 I think I’ll call as well and figure out what could have happened. Maybe they already sent out the letter and it’s just taking a little while to get here. I really hope your daughter makes it in! I reviewed the forum in which people post their stats and whether they were admitted or not - I’ve seen people have stats that are the same, if not lower than your daughter’s and they were admitted. I wish her the best of luck :)

@agnijay That could definitely be it - they sent the letter but it just hasn’t arrived yet. I live all the way in California anyways so it might take a week for it to simply be shipped all the way here. Hopefully that’s the case but I’ll call the admissions office anyways!
