I applied the 6 colleges as a transfer (1 I applied to last week... it's due date is Nov 1)
Out of the 6 schools I applied to (I applied to by Sept 29-Oct 10), I have only received ONE confirmation, stating they have my application but just need my teacher recommendation

What am I supposed to do?? Should I call the schools and ask if they got my recommendations??

Sure. You should contact the admission office if you are in doubt. Don’t trust the CommonApp too much these days. But I would at least allow one week before calling. Some schools take more than 1 week to send out the confirmation. Some schools would not send you any e-mail unless they found something missing.

DS submitted 8 apps on Oct. 5 via Common App. As of 6:32pm tonight, we have heard from 5 with emails and login ids for their portal. All but one of these show items missing which have been submitted per Naviance/Common App. Of the remaining 3, one indicated that they have received the app but have not begun processing, and 2 are radio silent. We plan to call each one about 10 days before its respective due date to confirm what they have/don’t have, just in case we need to snail mail something.

I’ve sent in 5 of the applications beginning of October and complete silence
it makes me feel like they don’t have it

^ All through CommonApp?
My D applied to 6 schools in the last few weeks with 3 on CommonApp the other 3 online. All direct online application and 2 of the schools on CommonApp sent confirmation e-mails within a couple days to a week. There is still one without confirmation e-mail but we can still check the application through a website with applicant’s e-mail address.

all of them were through the common app
I received the email from Common App, stating that I sent in my applications… But have only heard back from 1 school, just saying they received my application but I’m missing something.
the one I just applied to, I can use my email for an online portal to check my status.

But other other 4… I’ve heard nothing from and in order to use their online portal to check my status, I need the login that they are/were supposed to email me…

^ If it has been more than a week or two, you should call the admission office to find out if they usually send confirmation upon receiving application. My D has one supplement shown as downloaded by the school that turned out to be empty. We are lucky that it was not the application itself. But that may happen to other applicants.
