Hey, as above, I'm totally spazzing. I sent my application on 10/22. On 10/31, I received the following email:

"This message is to let you know that your application to Yale has been received and entered into our database.
You will be receiving an acknowledgement by mail as well that has additional information.
You will receive another notification when your application is complete. Thank you for your interest in Yale!"

Since then, I have received no further contact. What really scares me is the line "You will receive another notification when your appication is complete." What do they mean by complete? Did I leave something out? HELP!

don't worry, it means that you will receive the eli letter when they are finished processing the application. After the eli letter, you will eventually receive a letter or email telling you what your application is missing (if anything). As long as you know that they received the application, you have nothing to worry about.

haha, I sent my application on the exact same day as you did, got the e-mail on the exact same day as you did and have yet to get my eli letter. Maybe they just lost that whole batch... okay j/k.. um... I wouldn't worry a/b it, they're just slow

Oh my God, thanks for all the replies. I was JUST composing an email to my regional Admissions Officer when my sister told me I had a letter in the mail. It was the Eli letter! I exist :D

I mailed my app. on Nov. 1st, and I haven't received any emails or letters yet, nothing! How long should I wait before I freak out and assume that they never received my application?!

umm exactly two days and eighteen minutes. actually i think you should be covered in a few days. between the day i sent my app and teh day i got my eli letter i'd say there were....15-17 days. but then you mailed your app so that might take longer.
