Ok so I took the December ACT on December 10, and scores were to be released December 20.
On the 20th, nearly everyone in my school received their scores except myself and a few others. I have STILL not received my scores.
On the 20th, I called up ACT and they said it’s “perfectly normal” to have not received scores yet and that they’re released “randomly” until February 3. But considering nearly everyone has their scores already, how is this possible???
I asked one other kid from my test center, and they received their score two days ago. I have not asked anyone else from my test center. Is it possible it is the test center that is causing the delay? If so, how come the kid I asked has his score (though it was also delayed) while I STILL haven’t?
The deadline for the February ACT sign up is January 13, so I’m kind of getting annoyed that my score hasn’t released yet. So, my question is- Why do you guys think my score isn’t released, and when do you think it will finally be released? Is it truly “random”, or did I probably mess something up on my test (such as the match number)? Should I contact ACT again?
My son has still not received his December ACT scores either. ACT comments over and over on their Facebook and twitter pages that scores are released randomly, and not by location. Even if every single other student from your test center has received scores but you haven’t (and you only know about one other student) ACT probably still won’t give you any other answer until after February 3.
@EKolin It’s ACT’s score releasing process and there is nothing you can do about it. It is very frustrating particularly for kids who are trying to decide if they should retake on the next available test date.
@mohammadmohd18 but why do you think that is though. It can’t possibly be random when 98 percent of test takers at my school have my score. Do you think I filled something in wrong? Could there be another reason? One of my friends said people may receive scores late cause their score either increased or decreased a lot? Is that possible?
Yes @EKolin it is possible that you made an error in your information delaying the score. It is also possible that your score increased more than a slight deviation delaying the score. I do not know if it is delayed for a noticeable deviation decreasing the score. It is also possible they just did not process your score yet. 98% of the test takers at your school have their scores means 2% still do not and you are in the 2%. Did all test takers at your school take the test st the same test center? I ask because it really doesn’t matter how many at your school have scores since the scores are submitted by test center not school.
Dec test is the last chance seniors have to take the test which makes the Dec test a highly scheduled test date. ACT has a high number of requests for scores to be sent to colleges for seniors to meet app deadlines. Perhaps it’s an issue of resources. Hopefully, they send out the remaining scores this week. Good luck!
@paveyourpath no not everyone at my school tested at the same center, but one person from my center that I asked did received their scores, albeit just last Wednesday.
