Haven't started my applications yet, is it too late?

I'm in a Univeristy in Hong Kong and I'm thinking of transfering to US. The courseload here is unbelievable and I've been too busy to start. Does anyone think it's too late and that I might as well try next year? Or should I just try anyways? Cause I don't really want to screw up my chances or anything next year if the apps are really rushed this year.

The schools i'm interested in (business major btw)

NYU
Boston college
U of Virginia
Illinois

and the ones I HAVE to apply next year (cause of requirements or cause the deadlines over)
UC berkely
UNC
USC
Emory

Plus i could somebody give me a general idea of how hard or easy it is to transfer from here? Cause i've got a US room-mate (exchange student) and he says it should be quite easy to get accepted from Hong Kong but looking at the stats other people are posting I seriously have my doubts. But then again, I'm not sure what the grades are like compared from here to US. For example the highest GPA in my major is only 3.71 (I have a 3.28 and the average is 3.2) although I SERIOUSLY doubt it's cause we're bad students. The workload and pressure here is unbelievable and I swear, every single one of my classmates are geniuses cause I know friends who went to UC berkely and Cornell and places like that but know way are they as smart as the students here.

Yeah but still, is it worth the try to apply this year or should i wait?

If you really want to leave, then it’s worth a shot UNLESS the deadline for the school that you really really want to attend has passed. It doesn’t make sense to transfer somewhere you don’t want to be, so if that is the case, then I would recommend waiting for next year. If not, then try to get your applications in. Also, your GPA is a tad low for some of those schools, so if you want to be more competitive, then perhaps wait a year and raise your GPA.

Don’t forget that spring transfers are an option at some schools. Check the deadlines for those.
