A few weeks back heard Haverford admission decisions target date is Friday, March 15th. Anyone hear if they are on track? Getting close!
Haven’t heard anything since that email they sent out. Hopefully it’s still Friday.
Yes.
They sent email targeting this Friday.
We didn’t get any email after that.
Does Haverford send email to every applicant for that?
Now that your application for admission is out of your hands and you are in the midst of the long waiting period before hearing our decision, we wanted to reach out to give you a little more information about how the process unfolds from here.
First and foremost, we so appreciate that you’ve applied to Haverford and that you are considering our community as the next stopping point on your journey. We know you’ve put a lot of time and energy into this process, and we can promise above all that we will be reading your application very carefully – doing everything we can to get to know you and imagine you as a member of the Haverford community.
So here are a few things we thought you should know about the Haverford Admission process:
We are currently engaged in our reading process, with every application being read in its entirety by our committed staff. We take a lot of time with every application, with each one typically read twice before being considered in our committee process. Everything you submit to us is read and evaluated and plays a role in our understanding of who you are.
We operate a consensus-based decision-making process, where all eight Admission Counselors participate in the decisions we make. This is definitely time-consuming, but it allows us to work collaboratively as we evaluate your application and build the Haverford community. In case you haven’t seen it, check out Admission Counselor Katie Lee ’16 describing in more detail how the committee process works.
Unlike many institutions, we do not have any process to give some applicants an early notification or head’s up that they are likely to be admitted. Every offer of admission we make is important and every member of our community is valued equally, and we think it is important to notify all of our candidates at the same time.
We will send out decisions by email in mid-March (right now we are targeting March 15!) We will follow this up right away with paper copies of your decision letter.
If you are admitted to Haverford, you will notice that we don’t require an admission deposit to confirm your plan to attend. Evoking the principles behind our Honor Code, we take your word when you tell us you are coming to Haverford.
Whatever decision we make on your application, please know that we care very much about the outcome of your college admission process. We remain available now and throughout the process if we can be helpful in any way.
Very sincerely,
Jess H. Lord
Vice President & Dean of Admission and Financial Aid
What a great and informative post to those who follow this site. Thanks!!
Best of luck to everyone on Friday!
does anybody know what time they would release decisions tomorrow?
@groceryiist not sure because it seems like this is the first year they are emailing them. Usually it is snail mail.
I was also wondering what time they will be released. I have a friend who was admitted Early Decision 1 and she found out on a Friday night, so if they’re continuing along those lines it should be sometime tomorrow evening. Best of luck!
Swarthmore announced that they are releasing their decisions at 7pm tomorrow, so I imagine that Haverford will be around the same time. Best of luck everyone!
Can’t sleep.
Today is going to go by in slow motion :-S
I’m so anxious ? good luck to everybody!
Last year Haverford decisions were announced over a week after Swarthmore.
… because they did not update their last email, I am hoping they are sticking to today.
Good luck everyone! This is my first regular decision notification I hope it works out
FWIW, my daughter received her ED2 results via email at 4pm PT/7pm ET.
Has anyone heard yet?
not yet! i think it will be released around 7 EST so very soon
Does anybody know if the decision is in the subject like of the email?
@NietzscheRules for ED it did not- it just said Haverford admissions decision.
