Haverford 2024 ED1

Yeah I think you’re right! Hopefully we’ll know tomorrow

According to one of my friends, Haverford’s decision is set to release on 13th December at 7.00 PM EST.

Good luck guys. I hope everyone gets in.

In the past, they post about decisions coming out on insta. Hopefully they’ll come out soon!

At least some decisions are out. My S was accepted this evening. He never got an email; but checked his portal status and there was an update (the admissions letter). Best of luck to all!

Congrats to him! I was also accepted : )

congrats!!! i was also accepted!!!

Still waiting. Where did you get notified

She’s in and overjoyed ?

My D is also accepted. Congrats to all!

My son made it! So glad to hear before the weekend!!!

My daughter was accepted. Congratulations, all!

Sadly I got deferred.

Can some of you post your stats? My younger brother wasn’t accepted, and we are trying to figure out where to EDII next. We are wondering if it was kinda just bad luck due to a very strong ED pool this year or if he’s generally unlikely to get into other similar schools. Thanks in advance! For reference he has a 34 ACT, 3.7 weighted GPA (but from a not-good Texas high school), good letters of recommendation, and a very compelling and entertaining personal statement with interesting extracurriculars. No financial aid requested.

@BestSisterEver - Sorry no one has answered your question. Honestly, I think Haverford attracts a type of student who is generally reluctant to share “stats” because they are fairly humble, and believe that college admissions should be a more “holistic” endeavor.

That said, my own view from having visited and researched many highly selective schools is that your brother’s record looks solid for such schools except for the GPA. Most schools emphasize the priority they give to the HS “transcript”. Not knowing more about the HS involved, I’d say that a 3.7 (weighted) would be an initial “red flag”, particularly in view of a very good ACT score. I fear it may cause an AO to think the applicant was performing below his ability.

Just my $0.02. Best of luck to your brother!

My daughter was accepted, she was expecting to be deferred. I can’t say why your brother wasn’t accepted, but you asked for stats. My D had 34 ACT, 8 AP’s, 4/4.3 unweighted. I think her essays and interview and letters just showed a really good fit. I’m sure you’re brother will land on his feet. It’s great that you are looking out for him!
