My son is very interested in Haverford. I see some sources say that Haverford is needs blind and has excellent financial aid (sub $50K income here), but their site doesn't reference a needs blind program.

Any experiences out there you can share?

Quick response:

Under [Haverford College Financial Aid](Financial Aid | Haverford College) : “The Admission staff admits students without regard to their financial need.”

Under [Haverford College Financial Aid: Frequently Asked Questions](http://www.haverford.edu/financialaid/faq/regulardecision.php) : “The Admission Officers do not know an applicant’s need or even that the student has applied for aid when they make an Early or Regular Decision. In other words, Haverford’s admission process is “Need-Blind” for U.S. citizens and permanent residents.”

Thanks for helping failing eyes find the obvious! :)

Haverford has one of the best financial aid policies in the country; in fact, it was mentioned among the top 12 of all colleges and universities in a recent Washington Post article ([The 12 best college financial aid policies - College, Inc. - The Washington Post](http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/college-inc/post/the-12-best-college-financial-aid-policies/2011/07/11/gIQA8RvF9H_blog.html)), so you ought to feel very comfortable having your son apply!

Our s just graduated and had finaid all four years. They pay 100% of demonstrated need using a formula that they devise. They have a very strong program. They do not however however take into account some kinds of debt that you may owe such as credit cards. if you contact the finaid office they will run your numbers through their formula even before you are accepted so that you will have a good idea of what you can expect to pay.
