@sblaurel Congratulations!! So others can estimate when their decisions might arrive, email or USPS? And if domestic, how far are you from Haverford?
Thanks lacmom71! We live in northern NJ, about 2 hours from Haverford. It arrived USPS, not email.
Accepted!!! I live near Albany NY for a mail estimate. So so so excited!!!
@frizzle68 Congrats! Haverford is an incredible school!
So, decisions have arrived in the mail at destinations up to 4 hrs from Haverford so far.
So that means the rest of the decisions will be arriving at mainland US on monday
@taxicab1729 Most likely. Which is an excruciating wait! My D is waiting in Ohio (7 hrs) but our mail hasn’t been delivered yet today. If she gets accepted to Haverford, she’s definitely attending.
@lacmom71 same here! Haverford is my first choice!
Hi all. I’m in DC, and I received my decision today: rejected.
I’m honestly quite surprised by this. For stats, I have a 35 ACT, 3.93 UW GPA and a 4.53 W GPA with 11 AP classes taken. Thus far, I’ve been admitted to Swarthmore, Carleton, MIT, and I received likely letters from Yale and Brown, so I’m genuinely surprised that I got flat out rejected. Haverford was not one of my top choices though, so I’m okay with the rejection.
Best of luck to all! Congrats to those who were accepted, and if you were rejected, definitely don’t worry about it—obviously I’ve gotten into a some other top schools (and likely letters from two ivys).
@takacatboy Surprised to hear about Haverford but you have incredible schools from which to choose. Best of luck!
Nothing in the mail today so looks like Ohio will indeed be Monday.
@takacatboy 2 words: yield protection
But seriously, congrats on those fantastic acceptances!
@slumgoat What was your stats?
taxicab: Disagree. Haverford is more sensitive about fit than stats than are many schools. As mentioned previously elsewhere in this string, admission results for one school can’t be used for another.
takacatboy: Congrats on your acceptances to some truly marvelous schools. Best of luck wherever you choose to go; each is very different, so make sure you pick the right one for you.
Best wishes to all in finding the right fit.
ACT 33 (35 E, 32 M, 33 R, 33 S)
No SAT 2
National exam A
High school GPA 11.32/12
Im yet to see someone who gets accepted to both Swat and Haverford @takacatboy. i was rejected at Swat
Every year there are people who get into both, one or the other, or neither. Different schools, different cultures, different admissions committees, and very different campus vibes.
The standard belief is that Fords tend to think Swatties are too uptight, and Swatties think Fords are too laid back. There are many exceptions to this but seems to be the general vibe.
"Haverford is more sensitive about fit than stats than are many schools. "
Correct. Additionally, as another poster already mentioned, focus on stats and sharing them is not the Haverford way. I honestly don’t see the point it serves as you aren’t seeing the whole application. Common data sets provide statistical data if that is important to you.
All financial assistance received is based on need not merit anyway.
does anyone know if the decisions are being sent out on priority mail? I’m in california and I’d love to hear as soon as possible! thanks for any help
@tnev62 CA here too! (norcal) – theyre being sent out by usps first class. we’ll be hearing back on monday according to this map: https://ribbs.usps.gov/modernservicestandards/ssmaps/find_map.cfm (190 originating, 1st class)
Thank you all for your kind words. While I liked Haverford, out of applying to Swat and Ford, Swat would be a much better fit for me regardless. I’m definitely in that category of people thinking that Haverford was too laid back. My top school was initially UChicago (I was rejected) if that says something about me… so it’s probably for the best that I was rejected anyway considering I enjoy the stressful, uptight environment of many schools.
Again, best of luck to all, and thank you again for the kind words!
