Having a C second trimester

Hi everyone,

Recently I finished applying to my colleges. They are fairly selective and have anywhere from a 25-40% acceptance rate (excluding safeties). My grades have been good, all As and Bs, but it appears very likely that I will receive C in AP Biology for the second trimester.

I had previously had an A in Biology for the first trimester, but my new teacher has decided to make the class significantly more difficult. As a result, my grade dropped a lot. However, I am doing better in two of my other courses and just as well in the others. How much can this C hurt my chances of being admitted? I feel comforted by the fact the Bio is usually a hard course and that they do not receive the grades until early March, but I'm still unnerved. Any ideas about how much this will affect my chances?

Thank you

I’m not really sure how bad a C really is. Would it really be that hard to get it up to a B?
