Having a certain amount of units?

Hello all!

I am taking 19 units this semester and I am worried it will be too much to handle, only because I am taking Statistics and Spanish this semester which are not my strongest subjects and I feel I will take up most of my time. I may drop my Sociology 101 class ( since i dont need to take it for my major) but as of now i have 44 units and only need 16 units to get the minimum 60 UC transferable units req. If i drop my sociology class i will end up only taking 16 units for this upcoming semster. I am scared to do so because my counselor told me that UC's look down on the fact that i will only have 60 units completed and not more. Is this true?

Hi OP. I also have 44 units completed so far! Taking 16 this Spring. So long as all the units transfer over, I don’t see why the UC’s would care if it was either 60 units or 63. I think you’ll be fine. I’d drop the 3 unit class.

I think your counselor is a dunce.

Listen to Snorlaz, your counselor is not giving you correct information.

Spanish and Stats are two heavy duty classes, I also agree you should drop the class that is not required.

Thanks @Snorlaz and @Yenmor! I had a feeling my counselor was wrong. And good luck in this upcoming semester!

Counselor is wrong. With that said you can transfer with a max of 70 units so it maybe help you avoid taking 10 extra UC credits (3-4 classes worth) $$$.
