Having a class erased from Transcript

Its my junior year and I had decided to take 5 AP classes. One of them I really regret taking - Biology. Mainly because I hate the subject and first semester I received a C+ in the class. Is it possible to talk to my counselors and have them erase this class from my transcript (ie. make it look like I never took the class, get no credit for it but not have the C grade show on the transcript either)?

Usually there's a deadline when you can drop a class. If you're already in second semester, you most probably missed it. If you're lucky (and depending on how your school goes), you might be able to get a Withdrawn but that's wishful thinking. Plus colleges can ask why you withdrew the course in the first place.

Cheers,
Alex

So, should I just stick with the class and hope I get this semester over with as soon as possible?

^yes. i doubt there's any way for them to erase that class from your transcript. altho it's only your junior year and you can do better this second semester!

A C in an AP class is understandable.....and i think they would forgive if you scored alright on the AP test

Besides, if you can have a grade erased from your transcript just like that, can you imagine the horde of CC-ers panicking to get rid of that pesky A-?

You may be able to change it to Pass/Fail, so you'd end up with a Pass.

exactly what i was thinking!!!

Pass/Fail is not the best option cuz it prompts colleges to ask "why pass/fail"

you can ask them to convert it to pass/fail?

^^^he already finished first semester, which means the grade is already in

Most schools have a deadline to make any changes to grading or dropping classes halfway through the semester. Since he already finished the semester and got a C+, it is already on his transcript.

Since its already on your transcript you can't get rid of, or convert it. Just deal with it, its not a death sentence and probably won't affect your chances much anywhere at all.

A C+ is better than a pass/fail. P/F would raise a lot of red flags to me if I were an admission person. It's not the end of the world. Work harder this semester and see what you can pull out. Maybe you'll learn a lesson you can discuss in an essay next year.

No way would get it erased at my kids' schools. So this is your first C; it probably won't be the last one in your academic career. How you handle it is what's important.

at my school (according to the bottom section GRADES on my report card), we have F-failing, passing, withdrew, withdrew failing. they confuse me. i don't know what's the difference betwee withdrew and withdrew failing...besides that one has the word "failing" in it. i mean a lot of kids (talkin about AP kids) drop courses. it can just simply be "i have way too many classes to handle. one less would do me good" type of situation...can it?

withdrew failng just means you withdrew while you were failing..
