I'm in sort of a dilemma because I told my interviewer for a school that I couldn't travel to her place, which is an hour drive there so she found someone else to interview me and that person is coming from her place to meet me. I feel so bad since they're volunteering their time to help me with college and all, and I don't know how to address this. Would their perception of me be very skewed and how bad is it that I'm so needy?

Did you have a reasonable explanation?

I just said that transportation would be inconvenient but I didn’t say that it’s because my parents can’t provide transportation there and won’t let me take the bus alone

you’re overthinking this. The 2nd person obviously doesn’t mind the drive and is likely coordinating it with other errands. Relax. Adults are fully cognizant that not every HS student has independent transportation and many areas are not served well by public transportation. You’re fine.

Yeah, that’s perfectly reasonable. (It would be different if you had given no explanation, or if you’d stupidly said that you preferred to go bowling, etc.)

Ok thank you!
