having multiple SATIIs

Like most colleges, the ones that I'm applying to also require 2 SATIIs.
But is it better just have two decent scores or have like 2~3 more scores with not-so-good scores?
For example, (not neccessarily my case..hmm)

1) IIC:800 Chem:740
2) IIC:800 Chem:740 Bio:700 Physics:630

which one's better? I think #1 looks better..but then wouldn't colleges think the second student tried harder and took the risk of taking more tests although he only needed 2 of them to meet the requirement?

also, I know that math IC and IIC are counted as just one SATII..but does that mean that having two great scores on both is the same as just one great score on one of them?

thnx!

I don't think either applicant 1 or applicant 2 would be better off, overall. Universities which ask for only 2 SAT IIs probably feel they don't need any more than 2 to make an informed decision. (Universities which plug SAT IIs into an equation will simply take the highest scores anyway.) On the other hand, while a 630 in Physics isn't going to help at any top university, it MIGHT hurt (does anyone really know for sure one way or the other?)... so, better safe than sorry - I wouldn't test beyond the first two good scores unless there was some good reason to.

Besides, admissions people know it's rash to take a risk you're not really prepared to handle well; so, there's two sides to the "taking a risk" coin.

I'd like to know about this for sure myself. The schools I want to go to are non-HYP Ivy Leagues - Brown, UPenn, Columbia, and Cornell. For the most part, I think these schools only require two. I think Columbia may require three, but I'm not sure. (Information, please: my sincere thanks to any takers.)

Anyways, I forgot to register on time for the November test, and being a Canadian, no Late Registration for me. Standby is my only option. The test I was going to take - and hopefully still will - was/is the SATII Chemistry. The thing is, I already took the SATII Math2C and Physics and got 800 on both. (88 and 93 percentiles respectively, though.) For those schools that only require two, is there a point to taking a third? Would it help your chances at all? And are there schools that "ask" for two but really expect exceptional applicants to do more? Feedback, please.
