<p>I have a problem logging into my Illinois account.
I made several mistake while logging in, and now my account is locked.
Has anyone been locked?</p>

<p>Your account gets locked as a security precaution to prevent a blunt force type of hack attack, where a hacker trys to guess your password by repeatedly trying multiple different passwords in an attempt to hit on yours. Locking your account prevents this, but unfortunately, if you’ve forgotten your password, they might think you’re the hacker. You’ll have to wait until Monday during regular office hours, and call the registrar’s office or the university’s IT help desk to get it unlocked, and your password reset.</p>
<p>By the way, I know my password now… do i still have to reset it??</p>
<p>I’m not sure about that. Depends on the their unlock procedure.</p>
