ok i sent in my stuff via the common app, and regarding payment i was told they would email me when i could give my app fee, i have yet to recieve that… have all of you?? im wondering if its too late to send in the fee through mail. ALso i have confirmation that they recieved my supplement, and common app, but on on my accound they say they havent recieved the supplement yet… AHHHH wht do i do!

I thought they would mail notices if you were missing things. Hmm.. I suppose you could call the admission's office, but I'm not sure how busy they are right now.

sydney- my d is in the same position. I called about the supplement- they have it, but the online portal still says the supplement is missing. They said it takes about a week to get an email from them regarding payment of the fee.
What has happenned in your situation? I'd like to know since I feel uncomfortable with a message online saying info is missing-even if a real person says it is not.

Sometimes the info isn't updated on the computer as quickly as we would like. For example, I send a Business/Farm Supplement express mail to the Financial Aid office and KNOW they received it, because someone signed for it. But S's applicant link showed it was missing. Ditto for the CSS Profile. Eventually, they showed as "received." This was for an ED application.

So I wouldn't worry as long as someone at BU told you it was there.

Thanks, kinshasa. I am worried because there was a complication- my d goes by two different last names (one is a hyphenate). The common app was under A-B, and the supplement was under B. So, when I called BU, someone had to "find" the supplement and add it to her file. I don't know if this was done with real paper, or just with the computer files. My concern was that if they didn't actively update the app file to reflect that someone had made the addition manually, the application might not get reviewed.

Moral of the story: Hyphenate your children from birth. We gave my d my H's last name as her legal name, but she always identified more with me and used my last name at school (stubborn 5-year old). To make things less confusing at school, I eventually had them change her records to the hyphenate. But, of course, if something specifically asks for the legal name (eg driver's license), she uses her father's surname. I can't begin to tell you the mess this has caused. She took her AP tests using the different names, and they claim there is no way to merge the files. So, even though she is an ap scholar, it doesn't show up on her reports- because the 3 exams are split into two files. And now we are having alot of application hassles because the applyweb site was set up with the legal name and the common ap with the hyphenate. We had been told that all materials would be put in one file if we supplied the alternate names on the common ap form. We've yet to see that work. As if this weren't hard enough already!
