Having second thoughts over accepting McCombs...

Hello,
I am an international student who contemplated heavily on UCLA (business economics) vs UT McCombs (possibly finance) and chose UT. Now, I feel that I actually made an incorrect decision.
Personally, not being in the US, I made all my decisions from what I read on the internet.
My main qualms about going to UT are:
1. I didn't apply to BHP and now from what I gather is, if I am not in BHP, I am literally screwed as a finance major. I am not going to land an investment banking job and heck, I might not land a job anywhere (I need a work visa). On the other hand, UCLA grads(on online forums) tend to land fabulous jobs no matter what.
2. Economics > finance is the general consensus. Combine eco with a school like UCLA and it is potent.
I would like to double major in eco at UT too; the problem is I come in with zero credits as I am an international student. And from what other students have told me, a dual major isn't advisable.
3. UCLA trumps UT on national prestige.

What are your thoughts on these? Are these real worries or am I just getting cold feet.
Thank you for your replies :)

I think you made the right choice still. I’m not in BHP but I’m interning at one of the top investment banks in Houston. Also I don’t know a single person from ucla that is in investment banking. Also, no one really thinks an Econ degree is better than a finance unless you’re at an Ivy League school.

Wow, I have literally heard none of those things. In fact, in some cases I have heard the opposite. I think if thats the way you feel then you should go to UCLA. I think your whole thesis above ir wrong, but if I was in your shoes I would go with your gut (which is obviously UCLA).

check out the link i posted, McCombs is the number 6 ranked undergraduate business school…UCLA is not even in the top 50…Ha I think you made the right choice.
