I've been extremely hesitant to ask my teachers to to read my essays mainly because of how personal they are. Should I just continue to revise my essays on my own, submit and hope for the best, or should I have some one look them over? I would really prefer it if my teachers knew as little about my personal life as possible, but I don't want to take the risk of submitting a crappy essay. :/

Have someone look them over. Teachers would be best because they’re not very likely to gossip about your personal life. But really, your eyes only see certain things. You can’t get the full picture of your essay without editors.

I agree. This is a huge “assignment” that may impact the rest of your life. Sometimes, we just miss things when we read our own essays.

Yeah, a person to look over them is a good idea. I understand, though, not wanting your teachers to know that stuff about you. Perhaps you could use a really close friend, or even people on here. Many people on here would be happy to do it, and if you don’t necessarily want a high schoolers opinion, there is the parents forum.

well I’m also pretty weary of showing someone online my stuff, but since I have no other options I guess I’ll do that

any parents or members care to read?
