I've seen a lot of websites advertising essay writing services for college admissions essays. I'm wondering, has anyone ever actually used one of these companies to write your essay for you? and if so, did it get you into your desired school?? I know they can be expensive, ranging from $15-$40 per page. Any thoughts?

buuuuummpp

they do not write the essay for you. they edit it barely.

they do write it for you. I know because I was tempted to use one of these services and read through their site. When you're about to fill out an orderform, they ask for what purpose (college admissions essay), they ask for a prompt/topic, and they ask for any special intructions (ie name of university, clubs you've been in, gpa, etc).

Yes, there are editing services as well, but that is entirely different from what I'm referring to.

isn't that like illegal?

Technically, no. The fact that they write the essay for you is perfectly legal. Submitting it and passing it off as your own, however, is illegal. You're supposed to use the essay as a guide or for "reference purposes".

oh, ok got it.

and how many people actually do that?

That's what I want to know, and if it's worked.

buuummp...?

yeah, does it work?

Do they have a money back guarantee?

Of Course it work... ask international students from China...

joe i used that service. I had my essay edited alittle, and a good essay became great. they didnt write it for me. i did.,

Yeah, I had friends being Editors for me

I couldn't afford pro writers to do that for me.

that link only explains what seperates a mediocre essay from a good essay

wow, that's cheating

that's a bit grimy

In my opinion,
tis cheating.
you write your essay on your own. if you require further guidance, you
make a visit with your
college counselor
or you work with siblings or parents, friends or teachers, cousins, aunts, uncles.. you don't ask a complete stranger to edit for you..
that's a bit OTT and i wouldnt do that...
BTW, congrats pnl09... Cornell? that sounds way cool! YOU must've done ur college esay.. the right way!:)
