moa - Congratulations! Agreed those stats are towards the lower end of Tulane students, but they are not bad. GPA is tough to judge since high schools vary so much, and 30 is a very decent score. Hope it all works out the way you want.

Surreal to read this thread. Already a year has passed since I applied to Tulane. Time moves too fast!

I received my letter today $25,000.00 and honors!!!

Congrats Gabby!

Gabby - Wonderful news! Of course I could say I told you so…lol. Good luck with the DHS.

parent56 - Congrats to your son. My D is very happy with the Honors Program (technically, it is not an Honors College) and is loving Tulane. I hope the rest of the process goes as well for him (and you!).

Congrats, everyone!

Hey, I got in with a $22,000 a year scholarship, no honors college. As Tulane is my first choice, I am trying to find a way into the honors college. Any suggestions? If I do well on my first semester report card, is there a possibility Tulane reconsiders my placement?

Absolutely. You really have two choices. After May 1 when Tulane knows what the incoming class looks like, you can write to Dr. Luongo (head of the Honors Program. BTW, it is an Honors PROGRAM, not COLLEGE. Not yelling, just emphasis. They are different by definition) and see if they will reconsider placing you in at the start. Especially if your senior year grades are strong, they might. Dr. Luongo is a very nice guy. Anxious as you might be, it makes more sense to wait and let them see how many students they admitted to the Honors Program actually decided to go to Tulane. If it happens to be a little lighter than expected, your chances improve. But if not, don’t despair. You can earn your way in by making the grades your freshman year. According to the web site, they only place students in once a year.
Good Luck!!

Aws1991 - Based on just what you posted, I think you will get in. ACT and GPA in range for Tulane, and class rank probably OK since your hgh school must be pretty competitiive. Admissions counselors know the schools well, so they definitely take that into account. EC’s look nice and balanced, so you should be fine, IMHO.

Daughter is very excited to be accepted into Tulane Class of 2014. Congratulatory message found on the application status website but few other details were provided. Will any potential scholarship and program information/invitations be included in formal acceptance letter or will this information be posted elsewhere on the Newly Admitted Students web page?

Unless things have changed, that will come with the acceptance letter, not appear on the website.

Oakton Parent - The information regarding scholarships and/or honors program will be in the formal letter. It took a little over a week from the time it showed online until I received the letter.

Holy moly, i’m an admitted college student!

Seems like just yesterday I getting on the bus for the first day of kindergarten!

Isn’t it a great feeling?? Now you can go to Halloween parties dressed as a college student, and it won’t be a costume!

haha, yes it is.

It’s a little surreal. I’m now going to college. Will it be Tulane? I don’t know yet… But I’m going to college. lol
