So I transferred to a school close to home (1.6 miles away from my house) and I have the choice to live at school or live at home. I already did a semester at this school and I don't know anybody and I am not involved in anything besides Honors College.

So my dilemma is : Do I live at home and be tortured by my parents and handicapped brother or do I live at school and increase my college loans.

What about sharing an apartment or townhouse with some friends of yours in town? You would only pay a fraction of the rent, but you would be out of your parents’ house. Just another idea.

Definitely live at home. Saving all the money will be worth it in the end even through the inconveniences you may face at home. You get tortured by your handicapped brother?

assuming its bad enough to interfere with grades (living at home did that for me), its worth the extra money to live on campus for a semester or two.
