Hawaii Colleges?

I'm planning on getting my high school degree with the Lincoln academy online when I turn 16. I'm currently living in Texas but I really want to attend college in Hawaii. Im looking for something affordable. I don't know how to explain it but there is a very unique lifestyle on islands. That's what I'm looking for. Im just curious to see if anyone going to school in Hawaii knows of a good college.

I have a friend who went to Brigham Young University in Hawaii.
It is a religious school.
She says it have a strict no alcohol rule and does not have a large party scene, aka Friday nights is just another night.

Your definition of “affordable”?

The number of colleges and universities in Hawaii is limited. See here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colleges_and_universities_in_Hawaii

I’d like to keep it around 10k a semester. Im not looking for a religious school. Im also not opposed to parties.

Try the net price calculator at each school.

I have two friends that attend UH Manoa - the campus is close to Waikiki, about two miles, which is great if you’re looking for a small job. Quite honestly if you can swing it I say go for it, these two friends love it! And yes, they post amazing photos nearly everyday on facebook  [University of Hawaii at Manoa](http://manoa.hawaii.edu/)

Hi, I’m a University of Hawaii at Manoa grad. The school might be 2 miles from the beach in a straight line, but you cannot actually walk. There is a huge canal to go around. You need to take a bus (that doesn’t have a timetable, well at least when I was there.)

You have to be very laid back person to be happy there. After a couple of years, you might get bored. While I was there, maybe 2 professional musical theaters visited Oahu. No big art museum to speak of, no amusement park and no four seasons. If you love to surf or/and enjoy the island mentality (life is good, no need to compete…), then you will love it there.

If you want to study Asian studies or languages, or Oceanography, they have very very good programs there at UH-Manoa.
