Can anyone tell me any good things about Hayden (specifically the French floor explorations). I got into that but the LCTs all ran out. I have the option of dropping my explorations status but there's still no guarantee that I'll get an LCT...the question is, is it worth the extra $2,000 I'd have to pay? I know this may sound like a no-brainer to some, just get another dorm, but I do like Hayden and if I were not to get a LCT in the regular pool it would totally defeat the purpose and I'd be left without the explorations floor I initially wanted (Hayden and Rubin were my first two choices in the regular pool). So...any opinions?

Location. Dining hall. That about sums it up.

I would stay.
I was on the French Floor this year and our RA Bryan Pirolli (your RA as well since he's staying!) is awesome awesome! Seriously the nicest guy ever. Hayden's all right, and depends on the year and the people. They can get obnoxious and snobby but Hayden itself is pretty chill. Location is key, near the west village, you've got mcdougal, you've got a nasty dining hall (but a dining hall nonetheless) and it's got a nice villagy feel.

What things did y'all do as residents on the floor? Are the rooms nice/spacious? Was it convenient living in Hayden?

as residents of the french floor, we have french conversation dinners once every week. Every couple weeks, our RA would decorate the board in the hall with a special French theme and we would help. Additionally, when theres a holiday (Halloween, etc) we would all help out decorating the hall. That's just wanting to though, because we love our RA. Otherwise, NYU gives us money to do anything French-related and if you have ideas you can tell the RA. This year we went to have crepes at Columbus, watched Les Miserables on Broadway, went to see Marie Antoinette in theatres, went ice-skating during christmas time at The Pond in Bryant Park, had a french picnic with catering from a variety of french restaurants in the village, etc etc. I can't remember but we did a lot. Went to central park a lot and Bronx Zoo...
