Hazing, hazing, hazing

I will be attending Bucknell University next year and i'm just wondering.. i know most colleges tend to have hazing in frats, but since Bucknell is so small do you think there will still be hazing? I'm assuming yes since frats is a big part of Bucknell but you never know

Depends on your definition of “hazing.” :)

They used to probably be a lot worse than they are now but people got too sociopathic with their “power” over the pledges

The term is “Fraternities” and hazing doesn’t happen because it’s against National Policies and the school’s policies who grant Fraternities the space to practice their beliefs.

^Well, no, that just means that hazing is punished after the fact if and only if it is reported. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen at all.

There is less of what was commonly considered hazing now, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone. Even professional fraternities make you do things in order to a)bond you with your pledge brothers and b) make sure you really want to be there.
Things have gone from the physically dangerous towards more psychological and exhausting things. But still expect some of the most ridiculous things you ever do in your life to occur while pledging.

drink pledge

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not

Intense activites: yes. Hazing: no. It’s strictly prohibited, and even at larger campuses, most of the chapters don’t haze. That’s because hazing is prohibited by all national frats and is illegal. Not to mention, it tends to have a negative effect on brotherhood.

So, paddling, embarrassing activities, and anything that’d be considered outright abuse is usually out of the question.

However, the definition of hazing keeps on getting broader and broader, and these are things you will commonly see:

Road trips

Scavenger hunts

Chores (but a reasonable amount)

How is it sarcastic? It’s the truth.

You’re an idiot and obviously know nothing of Greek Life. If you are actually in a Fraternity then either your pledge educator did a **** poor job of educating you or you’re in a ****ty Fraternity.
