<p>Thanks for the report. I currently have a child at Howard, so its nice to see someone highlight HBCUs. Yes, the male to female ratio is a struggle as the kids say. I was surprised at how many non blacks attend Howard, it was nice seeing the diversity. And for those kids/parents who dont think HBCUs are diverse, you need to visit and talk to the students. There is so much diversity within the Black kids there. Kids from Chicago are very different than kids from the East coast, you have as my child would say, your Blerds, and your Blipsters, theres a group for everyone.</p>
<p>High female:male ratios are not surprising at many colleges (HB or non-HB), since, overall, there are more female college students than male college students. However, there are also differences between majors, such as psychology and biology being heavily female, and engineering, physics, and CS being heavily male.</p>
