Head shot and resume question

Only one of the schools S is applying to specified the number of head shots and resumes you should bring to the audition. Is the expectation every auditor gets a copy? I want to make sure I have enough printed.

Thanks.

We always brought 3, and the most that was ever taken was 3 (at BoCo). A few schools took 2, but most only took 1. Usually, the panel of auditors share one HS/R. But, I always say it is better to be prepared, and come with 3 for each school.

BTW, we brought a tiny travel stapler, and would staple them there if we needed more than 1 or 2 that we had stapled. This way, we didn’t waste any HSs, b/c the resume changed for each school (most schools require different info on the resume).

We did the same monkey13. My D already needs to update her resume from spring and summer shows so not having them all stapled helps.

Some of the walk-ins tended to want one for each auditor.

BoCo was the one school where our son ran out of headshots. I believe he brought two from the hotel, and they asked for a third in the singing part of the audition as he entered, and he was out. It was no big deal. He said he had given them in the earlier parts of the audition, and they didn’t bat an eye. He got in and will be attending in the fall - moving in next week.

While being prepared for each audition is very important, and should not be underestimated, if something doesn’t go exactly to plan, don’t sweat it. It doesn’t mean he or she won’t get in.

At one of my son’s auditions at Unifieds, they asked him to do his dance for them, and he had no idea that the dance audition was done privately with the singing and acting audition - as opposed to a separate group dance audition like all of his other schools. He had an audition coach, and they had organized a binder with details of each audition. Somehow, he completely missed what the dance audition was for this school. Dance is his weakest element, but he still got into this school.

Being organized in this process is key, but if something doesn’t work out perfectly, it doesn’t mean they won’t see the talent and potential, which is what they are looking for.
