Hi all!
Just a quick headshot question: for college auditions, do most people bring their "theatrical" headshot or "commercial" one? Basically, serious vs. smiling? I was inclined to say smiling, but when looking on the sites of some of the top BFA programs, most of the headshots shown are serious. Any thoughts on this matter?
In other news, Happy New Years Eve!!! Hope this year finds you all well.

I think you want to look as professional as possible, and professional actors use “serious” headshots, like those you see at the top BFA programs.

(This all reminds me of Miss La Creevy in the Charles Dickens’ novel “Nicholas Nickleby”)

KEVP

Most actors have both smiling and not smiling headshots that they use for different kinds of jobs.

For college auditions it is important that the picture looks like you and gives a sense of your energy as a person if possible. Go with the shot that you think does these things best.

Serious professional people smile too ;-)
