I didn't see anyone posting anything about a Health Administration degree. I just wanted to know what is the job market like out there for Health Admin Grads.

I would guess it would outpace most other job markets. The largest generation in history is about to retire. With this retirement undoubtedly comes the need for long term care. Think nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior communities. All these set ups will need able administrators.

You really need to get an MHA for health administration. If you want to do that, I would recommend an accounting or finance major and then go straight into grad school for an MHA.

I looked into this field extensively. I didn’t want to start out in such a specific field right out of college, but the job outlook for health care is as good as any in the world.

In regards to HCA (health care administration) is it a waste of time to major in it as an undergrad? I was thinking of switching to save my gpa, but I am still interested in Kinesiology. Ideally, I would like to major in Kinesiology with a minor in HCA. In terms of employment I would say working in a hospital, or something with senior citizens would interest me since I currently work at a senior center.

I am not sure where I would specialize in terms of HCA. I do know that finances is not really an option because math is not my best subject. I did alright in my intro to business course that involved an accounting project though. I think I got a A- on it. So who knows perhaps I am doubting myself. lol

I wouldn’t say its a waste of time, but I would definitely pair it with a business major of some sort to substantiate yourself as a healthcare business person.
