Health Careers (Not MD)

Hey, this may have been done already but I was hoping people could list some health careers not requiring MDs that make at least 80K a year. All I can think of is pharmacist and optometrist; obviously more of these kinds of careers exit. Also, if people could list the corresponding majors or pathways to these careers, it would be appreciated.

Thanks A Lot,

D

Nurse practitioner. Need a masters in nursing. Depending where you go I've heard people say they can get up to $100,000, but around $80,000 is more the norm.

physician's assistant--not exactly sure of salary in all areas, but I do know some PAs that make over this amount in cardiothoracic surgery practices.

thanks, keep em coming

Nurse anesthetist.

Need to be an RN, work for 3 years in an ICU setting, then 3 years of CRNA schooling.

Dentist.

nurse practitioner
psychologist
pharmacist
podiatrist
physician assistant
vet
nutritionist
audiologist
speech therapist
physical therapist

toxicologist
professor
teacher...eventually you can get your salary up there!

bump...

chioropracter

Open up a pregnancy clinic?

I have no clue how much that would make you, but it's another idea if you're more interested the sociological side of medicine.

And you yourself wouldn't necessarily have to have a medical degree...

ALSO: Athletic trainer. They're in high demand.

I'm not positive, but I think all you need is a degree in sports medicine or exercise science.

Athletic trainers are specific programs - but found under different colleges within different universities.

There are also Health education/prevention careers

Medical Family Therapy
Medical Social Work

Both are graduate school programs and would grand a Master's degree.
