Health Insurance

Is the USC health insurance good? Most of the people I've talked to are using their own insurance, so I don't know if it's a better choice to stay with mine or to change to the USC one. Any thoughts guys?

I'm not too sure, but as long as your health insurance qualifies for the waiver, I don't think it could be any worse than the health insurance that USC offers. My line of thinking is that USC requests certain minimum requirements for the waiver, and that USC's health insurance hovers around those minimum requirements. An additional incentive for the waiver is that it will save you over $300 (I forgot the exact amount) per semester.

The waiver criteria are on the following website:

The university health plan is Blue Cross of California, with a low deductible. It is just fine. Easy to use in LA and back home.

You just have to compare costs with what you have to see if it is worth the hassle of getting the waiver, assuming you even qualify for a waiver. As I recall, your family policy has to have a pretty low deductible to get the waiver.
