Hi there. I really, really want to get into Univ. of Florida's Health Science program to get a BS in public health. Right now I'm going to school to become a paralegal so I can work while I study and be able to support my son. I'm a non-traditional student (freshman) getting my AS after flunking out of school my first semester 7 years ago. Once I get my AS, I only have a few more credits I will have to take to get my AA, and they are all prereqs for the various Health Science programs in Florida. My question is not whether or not I'll get into UF or not with what I've got now, because I just started school. I want to know what I need to do academically to make my application stand out from all the other Health Science applicants. It's a limited access program. Here is a little information:

Single mother, 25, one son age 2 1/2

GPA 3.18 --> Institutional GPA 4.0 - my GPA was a 1.69 sixteen credits ago from my bad semester seven years ago. I raised it quickly and I have all A's this time around. I plan to keep it that way. I still have 2 years of school left...

to get my GPA up as high as it can go before I'm done with community college, which is 3.78 if I get ALL A's every semester every year.

Once my GPA is a 3.2 I am going to apply for the Honors program

I currently have no extracurriculars or clubs or sports or ANYTHING... with taking 15 credits per semester, being a full-time single mom is all the "extracurricular" I can handle...

I could get letters of reccomendation if I needed them with my application

My end goal is to become a health law attorney and get my dual JD/MPH at Boston University. It is the only thing I want to do with my life, and I love love love law - I'm super passionate about it.

Knowing this information, what would you recommend that I do, classes to take, etc to have the best application possible for admission to the Health Science program at UF? Thanks so much for helping me make my dreams come true! :)
