Does anybody have any details on this program. what does it take to get in? or is it already to late. any info is appreciated, thanks.

hey jake im looking into it too are you intrested in UROP as well by any chance?

i hadn't read up on it, but now that i have, that also looks really cool. BME, psych, and neuroscience research all seem awesome. This paper i have says to email urop.info@umich.edu if you want information on it. The HSSP email is HSSP@umich.edu

sweet, so i take it those are your areas of intrest?

yep, i'm thinking about majoring psychology w/ a premed concentration...What about you?

undecided as of now but leaning towards mcdb and anthropology with a biological or medical or zoology concentration

I'm also looking into HSSP and UROP. Planning on doing pre-med with biology or biochemistry.

is there an undergraduate biochem option?
the way i see it joining hssp and also doing urop but picking the non esidential option gives me the best of both worlds and then i also have the option of settling for either one in the second year

i'm really not sure about any specifics.
Does anybody know anything about the application process?

i think you have to apply to both hssp and urop when you apply for housing but you have to submit an essay and there is a deadline for a limited number of seats

hmm, so i guess i have to decide that i'm going to Umich before i can apply lol

lol um yes thatd be a good place to start but hey whatever works dude

UROP apps will be available may 1st if you're taking your first UMich class this coming summer or fall

My daughter has been in the program for 2 years and has really benefited from it. You may get a step up on Hill area housing because it's lodged in Alice Llyod, and two dorms on the Hill are out of commission for remodel. Those who have an inclination for doctoring, nursing, pharmacy, etc or don't know will enjoy it. The commitment is an evening class, I think once per week. Program add s great contacts and smallness at a university (my alama mater) that can seem overwhelming and large at times. Good luck. It's hard to think you can go wrong with program.

By program I mean HSSP. I don't believe that you have to apply to both HSSP and UROP.

anyone have any idea how competetative HSSP is to get into? I read that you havta write an essay and places are limited.

Hi, I'm in the HSSP, and will be returning next year to it. If anyone has any questions about it, please PM me and I will try to give you as much information as I can about it.

To clarify Dubleagl2's comment, only one dorm on the Hill is being renovated at the moment (Mosher Jordan, and upon its completion in two years, Stockwell Hall).

I lived in Mosher Jordan for the past two years and the Hill is a great place to live. Alice Lloyd was my top choice to live after MoJo closed for renovations and is home to several cool learning communities.
