what are the healthy meal options under contract dining? which are the places with the least processed food with the least grease? i'm looking for places with lean meats and protein, salads, brown rice, subs, etc.

i probably sound really picky, but i'm trying to commit to a healthy lifestyle and the eating options at ucsd are a big concern to me.

as for on-campus dining, just make a point of visiting a new one each week. there's nothing that's off-limits to you, with the shuttles going in circles all the time. my high school friends and i made a point of eating dinner together once a week for the first quarter, it was a great way to stay in touch with old friends and still explore UCSD a bit.

For on-campus dining I would say that Sierra Summit in Muir would be a healthy option. For lunch and for dinner they offer a vegetarian meal that sometimes has whole grains and/or is organic. Not a big fan of their other meals though. Also you can also get a sandwich w/ whole-grain bread at any of the dining halls. But as astrina said, the best way to know what you like is by going to the dining halls yourself and just trying things out.
I know that the food co-op in Price Center also served good vegetarian meals w/ brown rice...but I think they closed down last year. But the other food co-op in the Old Student Center is still open so I would check out what they have too.
I really like the Farmer's Market, I usually get the fruit b/c it's organic and very good. They are many vendors and you can get all types of food, from all around the world. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it...
