Congrats! If I may ask, when did she submit everything?

First of all, congratulations to you and your daughter!

If it is okay with you and if you have time, may you please answer my question: Did your daughter send her AP scores?

I was told by my guidance counselor to only send AP scores to the school I have been accepted to and that I will be attending. He states this because sending AP scores to every school I apply to costs a lot of money and it is unnecessary considering that AP scores have no effect on admission status. However, I just wanted to stay on the safe side and double check to see if it was necessary or not to send the scores.

Thank you and congratulations again! :)

Sabertooth…thanks, we did not send AP scores, just SAT and transcripts

It1294-her application was complete on 9/20 (that’s when they got transcripts); application submitted 9/4

Thank you for the reply revdad. I and my parents have already been spending much money to send SAT scores and transcripts lol. I had not realized that the college application process would be quite expensive haha.

Paula3, what were your stats that got you into USF? And what term did u apply for?

1140 SAT
4.2 GPA
Essay

@Sabertooth
My D did not send her AP scores to the college but her scores where posted in her MyUCF account. I can only gather that if you are attending a FL public school it is automatically available for the colleges to pull. Because we also noticed on her UNF account that they already had her scores and transcripts before she ordered (we are locally from Jax). She applied in mid-Aug and files completed by Sept.1st (UCF,FSU, UF,UNF,UWF) and no change in her status. However, UWF and UNF are making their decisions this month and FSU and UF won’t be until Feb. So, we at least thought we would have a response from UCF by now. Two days ago she decided to apply at USF too. Yes, applying to colleges is costly. At least, the application fees for most of the college applications are $30. In VA it is $75-80 per school.

Yes Cheermom, this is a little known fact for FL public school students. Their SS numbers are tied into the state system and schools can pull their scores automatically. 4 years ago, I noticed that my son’s scores were on his updated status’s when we hadn’t even sent them. Not the case with out of state universities. I called ACT and they told me that Florida and Minnesota were the only 2 states with such a system. I noticed on my daughter’s UF status update that they have her 3 ACT test dates there and we didn’t even send them, LOL. Saved a lot of money I guess! I would assume that AP scores show up as well since they are part of the SAT.

^^^^
Question please----
On my FSU application, my ACT score was also updated onto the
status page the second I applied, but not the SAT score. ??? Why ???

Chance me please?

I am applying from a small state college with 30 credit hours. 4.0 GPA. The transfer app isn’t much so I can’t add anything like extra acts. or even an essay. I might send in a reccomendation though. Anyone have some advice on what else I can do?

my D app was also in 9/20- it is still in the committee for review- taking too long?? she is anxouis as it is her first choice- we applied summer also and saw a couple students with 24 and 3.7 get accepted so keeping fingers crossed

I applied late aug/ early sep but my school did not send my transcripts until last week

I emailed admission Friday and this is their response. My D did call and told her that they could not give out information over the phone except that her application is being reviewed. So, what was the point of calling the office? Due privacy reasons they couldn’t give me (the parent-who is paying for the tuition) any information. BTW she is a minor.

Please note that to protect student privacy it is the policy of our office to only provide specific application information to applicants. I can only provide for you a general statement at this time. Yes, our website suggest that it takes 3 to 4 weeks for an admissions decision to be made on a complete file. Our admissions standards state that we cant make decisions for future academic years until a certain date each year. Each applicant file is processed and reviewed as quickly as possible. Please note that our office receives over 27,000 applications for freshman each year and we work as quickly as possible to make decisions. Your daughter can continue to track her status using her myucf account. We review each applications individually and that does take time but we do not have a date as to when we will provide decisions on applications. I hope this helps. If your daughter would like more information I would encourage her to contact our office directly.
