hear back from ucf summer 2012?

WRITEfuidity-
Don’t give up hope dude.

  1. Many people B.S. about their scores
  2. Applicants with really high scores only use UCF & others as a safety and never attend
  3. Most important-Even if you are chosen 1st or chosen in six months, you will still get
into the same school with the same classes live at the same dorms and in four years, your diploma will look the same ! Good Luck

Haha…dude. Try chick:) But thanks, I know what you mean. I’ll try and stay positive.

I applied July 1st and still have the “If required documents have been submitted…”

How early in the morning do they begin updating the status?

I’ve had it say “if all your documents…your application is currently under review” under application status for almost 1 month now…

I’ve been following this thread for a few days…would appreciate you all chancing my S and providing your thoughts of WHEN we will hear back for FALL 2012 application:

-Application sent 9/25 (in-state student)
-Application complete with transcripts 10/7 (delay with high school…ugh)
-my.UCF account now shows that all info received (transc, test scores, etc.) and app is being reviewed

STATS:

SAT 1250/1810 m650 cr600 w560
ACT 27
UCF gpa 3.8
All honors + 8 AP classes
~180 comm service hours
ECs including math honor society and a few clubs
part time employment for the last 18 mos
mom is UCF alum…not sure if this is considered

WHEN should we expect to hear back from them? I know they say 2-4 weeks from complete application, but it seems that some are hearing much more quickly and others not so much? Thanks!

You should hear back in 2 weeks or so. Maybe a week if your lucky. With ucf you never know though. I have a 25 act and a 3.5 gpa and i’ve been waiting a month and still no update, but some of my friends applied later than me and got notified last week.

I wouldn’t worry though, you have a pretty good chance of acceptance.

Thanks it1294…Were your friends who applied later and notified accepted? If so, did they happen to have >4.0 GPA? I heard that they accept 4.0 and higher very quickly…then quickly move to the 3.5-4.0 range.

I believe they had around a 3.9 if not a 4.0 and an act score in the high 20’s. I just hope I find out soon.

Thanks and good luck!

I applied early August for the Summer and I still haven’t heard anything.
:/

I spoke to admissions this morning as I started to think that my son should have applied for summer instead of fall and the person I spoke to said that ALL applicants are evaluated for summer as well as for fall so there is no need for my son to change his requested admission term.

I am so tempted to call them! lol

We were just notified this morning. My S was accepted for Fall 2012. Good luck to everyone! It looks like they are moving more quickly now.

congrats illm- my D stillnot changed and hers is OOS and same dates as yours 10-/5 being recalc. 25 act so maybe yours is higher sme gpa and we applied summer

Thanks and good luck. I do believe that OOS could be causing a difference in timing. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for everyone! :)

Obviously they are accepting the higher stats first.
Congrats ilm2012!!!

Hi everyone. My D sent her application on Aug. 1st. Her weighted gpa is 3.7 (but that isn’t the new recalculated UCF grades) and ACT 24. I was just advised by a contact person I have that admissions wants to see my D’s fall grades for her senior year…so I need to have a new transcript resent on Nov. 17th when the first semester grades are out. It still says pending on the application process…so I think unless you have high gpa and high testing score, they are picking through and seeing what more they want to re-evaluate…as an aside, her friend who is in UCF this year, the kid applied last August and didn’t get accepted from UCF till almost the last week in April…his stats last year was 24 ACT and 3.9 weighted…so I think it just depends on who is looking at your application. At least now I know, I need to wait until December before I hear back since they want to see her grades and courses this fall. Good luck everyone, I’ll post more if I hear anything different. In the meantime, FGCU and FAU already accepted her…most of the kids are going to FGCU if not UCF…such a world of difference between the two schools.

They are really extremely really picky… What is this? The Harvard of Florida???
My d has already been accepted into FGCU. It only took a week.

@southflmom- does your daughter have any extracurriculars?
