hear back from ucf summer 2012?

How many of your classes were Honors or AP? If you were in-state, I’d say you were in…however, OOS is tougher all the way around. Like your diverse ECs and the fact you had a job, that helps…I’m 50-50 on you unless you tell me you took at least 5 AP classes and passed.

No I’ve only taken the ACT. I haven’t had time to take another test unfortunately.

unfortunately not :frowning: i took a lot of these classes that are pretty much honors though-- they’re called accelerated at my school but i don’t think florida even knows about them

i also visited over the summer, being out of state it’s hard to do things like that unless you’re really interested so i’m not sure if they look at that as a positive thing

Stonemagic,
My D just retook the test a few weeks ago. The SAT score improved, we are still waiting for the ACT. Hopefully we will know soon. Thank you for your advice. How do you know so much about this?
Are you an undercover admissions agent? :)

Thank you! I did apply for summer, too. Everything was in by September 2nd. I will keep my fingers crossed, and hope they see something special in me.

LOL Overcome!

No I’m not an undercover admissions agent, but I do feel like I should write a book with all I’ve learned about this process via my son who is a HS Senior…already accepted to USF and UCF with FSU, UF, Stetson, App State and South Carolina pending. I am now giving advice to people at work, parents from his HS, etc. and am happy to share because NOBODY tells you this stuff, I had to figure it all out.

you are awesome! thanks for the input

Hey guys! What do you guys would think it would take for someone to get their acceptance revoked?

Personally, maybe set their high school on fire? Take apart a car, and put it around the fall pole, or maybe cover the stairs well stairs in baby oils?

My school has done all of that. Got to love Illinois schooling, huh?

I would suppose maybe failing a class, come second semester?

Stone Magic,
We all appreciate your help!!! Thank you!! You do seem to know what you are talking about!

I am a mom of a Senior who applied for summer who has been following these boards and posted today-my son was accepted for Summer term yesterday, and we were quite worried, so there is hope!

His stats were:
3.8 GPA (UCF)
1690 SAT (but his math was only 470, he took it 3 times and that was as high as he could get it)
ACT 23
Almost all AP or Honors classes for the past 4 years, passed 1 AP test also had one dual enrollment class

His EC’s were:
Attended Boys State
Secretary of NHS
coached Upward soccer for Youth
470 service hours with the zoo
mission trips to New Orleans
Chaplain of chorus department
wrestling
Student of the Year of the Junior class
Physics club

We are so happy!!! We were wishing he could have done fall, but I don’t think his stats would have supported a fall admission.

I got in yesterday :)

My stats:

24 ACT
3.8 Weighted GPA (unweighted, 3.74)
No APs
Four Honor Classes
323 hours of Community Service
President of a few groups at school
Tennis Team
Member of Key Club and NHS

I wish everyone luck and just be patient !

Also, if you e-mail admissions instead of calling…they give you more information than they would on the phone :)

@as. My d goes to wissahickon. She got in for summer. Stats are act 25 w gpa 3.8 ucf. She had no Ap but a lot of honors. What hs? I’ll keep fingers crossed

Do you think my D has a chance for summer?
24 act, 3.4 weighted, 1080 reading + math, all combined: 1710
100 + c.s. hours
honors and AP’s

It’s been exactly one month today since they got everything for my D :(

Overcome-I thought they had everything for my son, also-but they were waiting for a transcript from the college where he did the dual enrollment class. I noticed that when they updated to accepted, it also had the receipt of the transcript added.
I honestly can’t imagine your D not getting in; her stats and my sons are very similar.

Thank you JGC, they are similar but my D’s gpa is not good at all :frowning:
I just hope that they let us know soon either way so we can move forward with other plans.
I am assuming anytime now after one month has passed?!

@gailbeth council rock. I definitely have heard of wissahickon. I pray everyday haha

@as21608 I hope you get in- then you girls can meet up- let me kknow
