I’m surprised some of you had problems with transcripts-mine were sent from Illinois, and received within a week. Does anyone know how they look at community service hours, or awards? I have 630 hours of community service, and have been competing in competitive competitions for violin since seventh grade (ranking excellent to superior).

That’s what happened to me. And that’s a lot of hours

I was a cheerleading coach for three years-I didn’t know it counted as community service until they told me. Then the totaled up all the hours, and it was a shocker.

I feel like it’s taking forever for our decisions.

I’m anxious too. I had strong stats but weak EC’s and essay. Also they don’t have my AP scores yet but they should in a few days. I also sent in a revised essay so that should help out.

As of right now I plan on majoring in Event Management with a minor in Finance or Marketing, Orlando is the perfect place to be for that career.

Also, I assume it will show our admissions on the “application status page”?

I’m assuming so

When did you guys apply? Last year I applied in early Oct. and didn’t hear anything back until April when i was waitlisted, then denied in May. Not trying to scare anyone but UCF is known for accepting great applications very quickly and then literally taking forever with decisions for the others. I literally had to commit to USF (in May) before I even heard anything back from UCF. Really put a damper on my senior year. But good luck! I really hope you guys get in.

They received everything of mine last Thursday. And USF is a great school mayday.

Lol yeah, I’m not saying it isn’t. I just really had my heart set on UCF and I still do. Hopefully I’ll be either there or UF or FSU soon enough. USF is just too close to home. I used to criticize people that said stuff like that but it’s so true.

Yeah very true. What was your gpa and test scores?

GPA at the time was a 5.3 ? 1540 SAT but my math was sh_t. 560R,370M,610W 11 essay. Not that it matters much. I’m bad at math, but not THAT bad lol. Let the nervousness get to me. ACT was a 21 the first time 27 R 24W a 17 math I think? I forgot my science score too. The second time I got a 22 and brought my math up to a 20 but I screwed up and let my reading and writing scores drop because I focused too hard on the math & thought UCF superscored ACT which they don’t O.o But it was a 23 superscored. My problem was that when I applied I applied for Fall term because I called and asked them what term I should apply for because I didn’t want to go summer term & they told me to apply for the one I wanted because they “consider you for both terms.” Haha I feel for that one! I really regret not applying for summer & I tried to change my term but they wouldn’t let me.

Ohhh wow. Well I applied for summer term. My stats are 3.3 to 3.4 gpa 25 ACT in the IB program. I have some ECs and stuff. So I am nervous :/

GPA’s a little low but I think you’re fine. You neverr knoww thoughhh -____-

Mayday, I’m so excited to see you back!!! I think every case is different. In my case, I was pretty much borderline with a 22 ACT, but I got accepted in less than a month. But you are right, they do accept applicants with outstanding stats pretty quickly.

Also, don’t stress yourself out too much! I’m literally physically and emotionally drained from taking way too many classes and haven’t had a real break since the summer of my Junior year in high school. I feel like if I start college all over, I would change so much and take things much slower so that I could actually enjoy the process of being in college. The only thing I want now is time. Time to eat. Time to sleep. Time to reconsider my future careers. I guess I’m just at one of those stages that a lot of students have been through.

Anyway, enough of my rambling, haha. I still really hope you get into UCF! UCF truly made a mistake when they denied you.

Thanks mayday. @mizz do you think I will get in? In your opinion. And mayday I hope you do get in soon. You deserve it

Kyle, you shouldn’t have a problem. If anything at all, the most they will do is defer you till you send in your mid-year grades. I doubt they’ll ask for higher test scores. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine lol. I think you’ll hear back soon though :)

Okay I’m just worried bc my gpa is a bit low. So I’m nervous.

It’s okay, kyle. If they do defer you, just be sure to do well your first semester of senior year and send in the updated version of your transcript. Go take a break… don’t think about UCF for a week or two and come back and check again. Stop stressing so much, lol. You’ll be fine. :)

@Mizz! Thanks .You’re so nice lol! But yes I understand your want of time! I wanted the same thing which is why I applied for Fall. I had been so busy during my high school years and the summers that I just wanted a break. Obviously that wasn’t the best choice lol. I hope you get your time though!
