Just curious if any other waitlisted students got that EXTREMELY misleading email titled "WAITLIST RESPONSE".... I thought it meant it was giving me their response about my admission!!!

It just basically said that they're watching the admissions they receive very carefully to see if & how many people they'll take off the waitlist.

I'm just so nervous and don't know what to expect!! I sent in my progress reports and a letter about how much I want to go, so I'm hoping that will help... it just drives me crazy because my GPA & grades are a lot higher than their average. I decided not to try to change my major on my application (undeclared now) because I don't know if that would help at all anyway...

Do you know how this works? If NEU admits you off the waitlist, are you fiven a FA packet at the same time. And can you still qualify for scholarships or merit aid?

I’m guessing you can’t qualify for merit scholarships because they would have handed them all out, and they don’t give out very much need based aid, so chances are you’ll be paying full price if you get off the waitlist and decide to go there

My guidance counselor thinks we wouldn’t hear about financial aid until WELL past the May 1 deadline. So even if I hear back that I’m into the school before then, I’m still going to put a deposit down on another school in case Northeastern ends up giving me like… $5 or something haha.

And I don’t really know how the aid/scholarships will work. I’m going to be very frustrated if I get in and they don’t give me a merit scholarship because I know 2 people from my school who got in early with significantly lower GPAs, SAT & ACT scores than mine and they got at least SOME merit $… I understand coming in off the waitlist doesn’t put me in a good position for it, but I’m really crossing my fingers because my stats are way above their averages…

S off the waitlist (A & S)and with Financial aid and scholarship offer. He won’t be attending.

You usually get about a week and a half to decide to go if you get in past the deadline.

I got notified yesterday (Tuesday) and I have until Friday by 5pm to let them know. And no, that doesn’t mean you won’t get any FA. I got 19,000 in grants/scholarships and 7,500 loans/work-study.

I got an email two days ago accepting me from the waitlist, I heard a lot of colleges are trying to let people know about the waitlist ASAP this year too…

Can we accept admission into two colleges and then later on tell them we’re not coming. Is there a downside to accepting from two colleges?
