Hearing Back/Chances

Hi! Tulane is my absolute #1 school. It was the first application that I completed at the beginning of September (altho it took til about September 20th for my guidance department to get everything together and everything to be processed) and basically I've been pretty chewed up by the anxiety of knowing whether I can get in or not. Does anyone have any idea what the normal ~response time~ is to hear back from Tulane? Thanks in advance.

on top of that I'm also wondering if I should bother being nervous or if I should prepare for a let down. :)) so please let me know if I seem like a decent candidate or not.

GPA ~ 3.9 unweighted (my school does not do weighted GPA)

Class rank ~ 20ish out of 205

SAT ~ 2230 (790 W, 750 CR, 690 M)

Extra Curriculars ~ 4 years of show choir (huge time commitment - about 10 hours a week and I was a featured soloist junior/senior year as a leadership position), 4 years of musicals (similarly large time commitment), 4 years of plays, 2 years of student council, 3 years of student ambassadors (help out with school events, tours, etc), 3 years of community service club, 4 years of liturgical choir. a few more one year stints that I don't feel like listing.

I only took 2 APs but my school only offers about 5 AP classes total since it is a smaller Catholic high school. All the rest of my classes were honors and this year I am doing dual enrollment at Villanova University, which counts as AP credit at my school. Does this dual enrollment count for anything?

I also attended a Tulane session in my area (Philly) last week.

please let me know if I seem like a good candidate or not/when I should expect to hear back. Thanks!

You would appear to be a very strong candidate and if Tulane continues to do things as they have in the past, there is a good chance you will hear by the end of the month. I assume you did the Why Tulane essay? And yes, taking courses at Villanova certainly counts in a similar way to taking AP courses.

You should also be sure to apply for the top scholarships, the DHS and the PTA.

Yup, I did the Why Tulane essay. And I have started my applications for the two scholarships as well. Thanks for the reply.

Good Luck! I remember that waiting anxiety all too well last year as my son waited to hear from Tulane. You do sound like a strong candidate and if I remember correctly people started hearing back in mid October. I remember his application was marked complete on the portal around October 20th and we heard his decision 2 days later!

how do I get into contact with my admissions rep? I want to show interest, but I’m not entirely sure what questions to ask them or what to talk about with them at all, really. The last thing I want is for any contact to be awkward.

<a href=“Meet Us | Undergraduate Admission”>Meet Us | Undergraduate Admission;

you can put in your state on the right and it’ll redirect you to your rep.

Ask a specific question about Tulane, not something that you can find the answer on the website. Ask when/if the rep will be in your area, or visiting your high school.

Anyone hear back yet?

Have they begun sending out decisions yet?
