Hearing different things about OUT-OF-STATE applicants for University of Maryland!

<p>I'm so scared. I just recently sent my applications to University of Maryland. I have heard from some sources that it is easy to get into, but many people are saying now that out-of-state is very difficult.</p>

<p>Can anyone who got in out-of-state please share their stats or tell me if I have a good shot? Maryland uses weighted gpa's right?</p>

<p>My Stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.65 Weighted
Class Rank: Top 25%
4 APs (All AP's and Honors)</p>

<p>SAT I: 1510 (Math - 710, Verbal - 800)
SAT II: Math IC - 720, Writing - 710, Biology - 690</p>

<p>Teacher Recommendations: Very Good
Essays: Very Good</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities:
Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra - Third Stand - 12th
Rochester Korean United Methodist Church Orchestra - Concertmaster - 9th-11th
All-State/All-County Orchestra - Second Stand - 9th-12th
Varsity/JV Tennis - 9th-12th
Rochester All-Nations Church Praise Band - Leader/Guitar - 12th
Penfield/Harris FIRST Robotics Club - Team Leader - 12th
Model United Nations - 10th-12th

Cashier at Beauty Supply Warehouse - Summer 2002-2004 - 40 hours/week</p>

<p>I'd be extremely surprised if you didn't get in, based on your SAT scores. Your GPA is a little bit low for UMD, but the test scores will more than likely outweigh that.</p>

<p>You definitely have a good shot at Maryland. I can't imagine they would turn away someone with an SAT score 250 points above their average.</p>
