Hearing from "rejected" schools

D has been notifying the colleges that she decided against that she won't be attending. So far she's heard from a band director at one of them who was really after her, a music admissions director/professor from another, and tonight, a professor from another! They are asking what they can do to help her decide, some even offering more money. This sounds really silly but we both feel really bad!! Especially for the last one we heard from because we both really, really, really liked this person. Unfortunately D decided this school wasn't right for her. It's too bad they can't customize their experience and pick this campus, in that location, with this professor, etc!

My son also feels really bad, sent all of them letters last week. One sent him a “contratulations” letter for making a choice, one of the others sent him an email expressing dissapointment but said that he understood the situation.

My son felt REALLY bad about the one who sent him the email, they offered him a nice scholarship and he really felt wanted at that school, but it just wasn’t the best choice for him musically. They offered him four times the maximum scholarship amount that their web site said could be awarded to a music student. Now I am feeling bad about pressuring him to have even applied there (it was his last choice school and his most safe safty school).
