Hi guys! Since May 1st is approaching, Villanova is going to start calling people for wait list positions, if available. for those on the wait list, i decided to startup this thread so people can write in if they received a call yet. Please write in if you hear any news/ recieve a call!!!

Good luck to all!

Thanks for this thread. I’m a parent, child is on 'Nova wait list (SAT 2000/1330 GPA 90). Hoping if anyone hears, they’ll post. We will.

Heard that the committee is meeting on Monday to discuss wait list. @limbo what college did your child apply to?

Thanks for that info. Applied to Business.

Good luck to him/her. In 2010, they started calling on may 4th. So, I’m expected Monday or Tuesday for the calls to begin

Thanks Muffin. Any history to share? Did someone in your tent get called off the wait list in 2010?

No, I researched online! My daughter is waiting to hear for College of Arts and Sciences. Where will your son/daughter attend if not Villanova?

My daughter just turned down Nova today, I hope that helps one of you guys out! She was accepted as a Biology major. Was torn between three schools and really struggled with the decision, thus the last minute withdrawal.

Interesting struggle. My daughter had to deposit at Loyola Maryland. WIth a 20K per year honors scholarship, this will equal at least 100K difference out of pocket over 4 years for me, knowing there is no merit of any type if offered spot off Villanova waitlist. I am personally torn actaully wheather I hope Nova calls her, or in mnay ways I hope they dont!!

@crazymamaB Thanks for info. Where did your daughter end up deciding on?
and @kellyspop which college did your daughter apply to?

Nova (waitlist)… Tulane , Wake Forest, Holy Cross, Colby (accept) ,… Boston College …rejected

and of coursed Loyola …where we got the best deal .

Agreed. Got best deal with Loyola as well. Those are great schools, most of them are even academically better than Nova. Hope they start calling soon… Can’t deal with not knowing my daughter’s fate.

Wow, my D picked Loyola also, over Nova and Lafayette. And yes, the scholarship helped tip the scales in favor of Loyola. She also got a scholarship at WPI, but found she preferred the liberal Arts schools. Looks like Loyola is getting an awesome Class of 2018!

Wake Forest, Holy Cross, Colby are all ranked higher

they are ranked higher…but will make my wallet much lighter. I am an Ivy League graduate of 1987…I can count on one hand in the decade that anyone has asked me where I went to college. Job execution, even after a single year, is the only criteria that matters for future opportunities. All the “professional networking and connections” that you often hear as rationale for this or that school…why over blown in reality .

I asked admissions today when they will be calling and they said it is “unclear when they will start” so maybe sometime this week. Post in hear if you hear any news!
