We are receiving bunch of postal mails from OCM regarding beds, pillows, towels etc.,
Initially we thought these are directly from UCB and almost placed an order (and backed off at the last minute).
Did anyone receive those postal mails ? Any experience.
They have these marketing relationships this with many universities - it makes it look like it’s coming from Cal when it’s really this 3rd party company. Your kid will probably get some hard-copy info during orientation or whenever about care packages you can order and have sent to your kid throughout the year. The first one is free, but now they have your email address. My D is a junior this year and I’m still getting these stupid emails. These consist of a lot of junk food and are not a bargain. I don’t know what kind of kickback the schools get, but I’d imagine you can do better shopping around.
Care packages are like 23$ for 5$ worth of food. Just pay 20$ for an actually solid amount of food from Amazon.
You can get all of that bedding stuff from Target for way cheaper.
