Hedge Fund Internship

So I am a transfer student, beginning my first week at NYU majoring in economics. I'm completely fascinated by business and finance, and decided to apply to all these internships before school even started via our career-net website. Thinking that most of these internships would be for winter/summer, I didn't think too much of it other than getting my foot through the door early. I surprisingly got a call back after only a few days.

I'm concerned now, because after my first week of classes, I've realized how much more intense university courses are compared to community college ones. In addition, I was offered an interview at a hedge fund for possibly a 3 day per week (7 hours per day) position. The fund is relatively small, but does some interesting stuff.

Despite this, I'm taking 16 units and am concerned I may have gotten too ambitious. What would you do if you were me? I plan on attending the interview (tomorrow) and seeing what kind of time commitment they are looking for. Would I be dumb to pass up the offer to focus on grades, or follow my academic advisors advice (as well as my family's) and keep my schedule open for school until further notice? Thanks

Your not guaranteed a position just because you get an interview. If you do get the offer, you can always make adjustments to you schedule or to your work hours. Besides, whether you get the job or not, going to an interview will give you interviewing experience even if you aren’t offered the position.

Is this a paid or non-paid position? Seems like a lot of hours for a student. May mean you can’t take MWF classes which will make it hard to graduate. Come back after you’ve had an offer.
