hi
i am currently enroled as a freshman at karachi university and am highly dissatisfied with the education system here. the university does not have a gpa or even a credit hour system. we give our exams at the end of each semester with which our percentages are given to us. i can't apply for a transfer with this system to the highly selective universities abroad can i?i was applying as a freshman to a couple of universities but they say that they don't accept people already enroled in other bachelors programs.
WHAT DO I DO??!!!

did i happen to mention that my freshman year started this january and my first year is gonna end this december?

Shouldn't you have known all this before you applied? =) And that system would be weird in the States, but quite normal in say.. Australia.

Apply as a transfer?

look it's the only good place to study biological sciences. and i don't know if i can apply as transfer since they just hand out percentages and not a gpa. i don't even know if there's a credit hour system.what am i to do. i've already mailed the colleges to ask them. what do u guys think i should do?

Outside the US, most universities do not use a credit hour system. Apply as a transfer; there are institutions that converts international transcripts into us equivalencies for a "reasonable" fee. You'll find them online. You can also take placement exams to register for higher level classes.

I hope by 'mail' you mean 'email.' It's much faster.

i got my reply from yale and vassar.
yale says if i haven't completed a year at college, i am eligible for bachelore. my freshmen year started in mid-january so i'm guessing that it ends then as well. so does that mean i can apply as a freshman? vassar says that if i am matriculating at another college i can't. what does matriculating mean anyway?
