Height Conscience

hehe. my mom does have a cousin who is 6'7". She has a tall family.

hehe. my mom does have a cousin who is 6'7". She has a tall family. But sometimes I dont really feel like I am that tall. I feel normail height, except maybe on airplanes or in theaters. lol

I wanna be tall. Seriously, like another foot or so. Everyone literally looks down on you, and you need to have awesome skills to appear threatening and majestic.

I've been compared to a vicious little kitten who is "so incredibly cute" when I'm furious. It's annoying, since a tall friend of mine seriously looks like a train barreling towards you when he's mad.

What age do most people stop growing taller?

For normal people, around 22 for girls and 24 for guys, although it's pretty much static between the two growth spurts at 12 and 14, 20 and 22.

For me, twelve. And I ain't growing none.

There is a growth spurt between 20 an 22? I always thought you topped out in the late teen years.

thats what i thought too, and i hope it's true because i dont wanna get any taller

bah i am 5 10 and want to get to 6ft !!!! I am Indian btw and 17. Any tips?

So girls preer 5'8 guys to 6 ft ? hmm mmm

I prefer big guys, which is 90% of the male population from my viewpoint. Honestly, there's little difference between 5'8" to 6'0" either way.

It all comes down to your mind, your hunky hotness, and your ability to spawn hordes of genius children with me.

"genius children"? lol

you could always remind urself if u have a problem with ur height.. especially if ur average... that you could always be shorter

and besides, height doesn't really matter to much in my opinion in the intimidation department

for example

you see a extremely mad guy (probably weighs around 250) and about 5'9'' charging at you from one side, and another guy (a stringbean, weighs around 150) who is about 6'4'', who would u put more effort into dodging?

maybe a kinda silly example, but my opinion

snorts with laughter

depends on the guy and how mad he is.

and your point about how I could always be shorter is well-said. two inches shorter, and I could be a legal dwarf and park in the "disabled" parking spaces. rats.

actually, make that 99% of the male population [previous post], since 95% of the female population for my age group is taller than me.

that's one scary analogy, ilovetocamp. i think i'd employ my elementary school dodgeball techniques which basically involves squeaking, curling up into fetal position, and then gratefully crawling to the sidelines after being hit. but the good thing about not being tall is that you make a smaller target. haha i'm such a loser. i don't think i'd mind my height so much except that i haven't grown since sixth grade and have had to watch my friends shoot up half an inch or so over the course of one summer. well, i guess that's what heels were made for...

... lol, too bad i can't wear heels

and i've heard that for certain people like gymansts, being smaller and shorter is an advantage!

im 4'11ish - 5'0 and my boyfriend is 6'2 lol. im asian as well. gosh why are asians so short (exception: yao ming)...must have been so my ancestors could pick rice easier or something :\ ...then again my cousins are girls and they are like 5'8

ROFL that is one of the funniest things I have read on CC.

And tebro, we can make "genius children" together if you'd like.

athlon, it would be my honor. just so long as you are male. because turkey basters are just too expensive nowadays.

I'm 5'3 and 14. Most likely, I'll never reach the 5'5 mark :).
I don't think my height is a big deal, though. I may not be tall but I think big and act tall. That's just my personality, lol.

It's funny how height is. When I attended my small middle/elementary school, I had mixed feelings about my height. I thought my height was the norm. The only reason I was one of the shortest girls in my class was that by chance the girls were just taller. Fast foward to high school and it's a different story, lol. Quickly my naive assumptions fall apart and I realize I'm a "shorty" as my father would say:). The girls are inches taller than me.

Hey, maybe I will reach the 5'5 mark. Miracles do happen after all. In the meantime, I'll have to make sure I don't gain A LOT of weight to put on my 5'3 frame.

holy crap... ur a girl and you like the movie Full Metal Jacket?!?!?! wowza! (sry it's just that most ppl i know, esp girls, don't know w t f i am talking about)

lol, the whole "short asian thing" is so stereotypical, yet so true. I remember once, when my parents shipped me off to Korea over vacation to "get in touch with my heritage, etc." and being pretty much the tallest guy everywhere I went at 5'11''.
There was a b-ball court set up on top of my grandparents apartment complex which I went to everyday, since I really didn't have much else to do (My korean being "lacking" to say the least). For the first time in my life, I was actually the "go-to" guy in b-ball, to a point where I actually started to believe I had some skills at ballin'. Then I came back to the States, where my friends mercilessly dismantled my ego piece by piece. =)

Yah, ilovetocamp, I am a girl, lol. Most people look at my screen name and think "guy," but I just happen to have an interest in certain movies that are considered "masculine." Don't get me wrong, though. If you see me I'm not one of those masculine, butch type girls. I'm just an average girl... who likes Full Metal Jacket.;)
