nah i doubt it... i'm 16... almost 17 and kinda stopped growing, i'm ok with it... it hasn't stopped me from doing anything... well being good at basketball

... NOOO! well i was really hopin that i would break the 6 feet mark... so kEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Geez, I feel so horrible reading your posts about being ONLY a 5'10'' male (average American male is this height btw). Try half a foot shorter for me!!

At least I don't live in a place like the Netherlands where the average male height is an astounded 6'2''...

i'm exactly 6'0... its not always fun to be 'average'...

*smacks binaural"

I'm 5th percentile for my height. I can barely reach the middle of the blackboard. My head is literally along the same plane as other peoples' nipples!! Deal!

"i'm exactly 6'0... its not always fun to be 'average'..."

how would you know? the average height for males is 5'10"

some wouldn't mind being the height of other people's nipples.

oh god what did i just type

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

yes, but I pride myself on my LACK of an Electra or Oedipus complex. Wouldn't it be the taller person who would be gladder?

In India I'm perfectly happy with my height. A lot of people are 5 feet or below and i can look down at them and feel superior.

My 2 weeks spent in the Netherlands gave me a good sense of what it feels like to be a pygmy in a land of giants where most of the women are twice my height...(i'm not even going to talk about the guys hehe)

same in asia there's lotsa guys around 5'4" ish and i feel ok... even good... not that i don't know, just it's cool there
haha

I'm 5' 6"... yup kinda short but w/e

5'8 and 17.5 years old. I want that 5'10!!!! Any hope?

It's weird that we tend to complain about our short stature when our ancestors were, most likely, shorter than us.

well the thing is, i think height is a little more of a factor in today's society

besides, many of our "ancestors" survived just because they had bigger muscles or a bigger stick than some other animal... well maybe not hte best example, but you know what i mean

chochocho, don't mean to sound sentimental or sappy, but there is ALWAYS hope... one dude, he was real short last year, and over the summer, i think he gained around 2-3 inches (he's a senior now)

Good point ilovetocamp.

I've never had a growth spurt, and I'm 17. I've always grown "steadily," like I guess an inch or less per year. I started off high school at 5'5". I'm 5'8" and I'm graduating this year. Any chance I'd have a growth spurt? My dad is 5'8", my mom is 5'6", my brother, who is in 6th grade, is 5'6" ;o and my uncle on my mother's side is 6'2" and stuff. I don't know, this is so confusing.

There's no way to be 100% sure about whether you'll keep growing or whether you'll reach a certain height even if a doctor gives you a height projection. All you an really do is try and increase the chances of you growing taller. This would include getting 8 or more hours a sleep, getting the calcium you need, and generally eating an amount of food that enables your body to grow.

By doing those things, you increase the chances that you'll grow to the full height potential that you were genetically pre-disposed to. But of course, some people can do all those things and still not grow to their projected full height. While others might not do any of those things I listed and still grow to be very tall.
