<p>I have occaionally experienced the temptation to do something that might qualify as this kind of parenting, but both the (rational?) little voice inside my head and the mental picture of my kids' horrified faces stops me in time.</p>

<p>Clearly, I need to be playing a more active role in my kids' professional lives. It never occurred to me that I should be doing this. ;)</p>
<p>I think that the next phase of this site should be "Careerconfidential.com".</p>
<p>Then we will never leave!</p>
<p>I would think that this type of interference by parents would be an immediate turn-off to potential employers and would guarantee that the student would have no chance of getting hired for the job.</p>
